Mellow Mushroom Blowing Rock: A Gourmet Experience in Pizza and More

We were visiting from Chicago and stopped here on our day visit to Blowing Rock. The pizza my family had was outstanding and even the vegan cheese pizza I had was amazing!! We were all so thrilled with our server, she was wonderful (I wish I remembered her name!) But this is a great place to go if you are in the mood for pizza!!

One of the coolest Mellow Mushroom locations I’ve ever been to! The vibe here is unreal. The building and outdoor patio are super unique—Blowing Rock charm mixed with Mellow Mushroom’s funky style. You can tell they really put thought into the design. The staff was friendly and on point from the moment we walked in. We ordered a couple specialty pies and everything came out hot, fresh, and loaded with flavor. The crust? Perfect. Crispy outside, soft inside. Also, shoutout to their beer selection—tons of local craft options that paired great with the food. If you’re visiting Blowing Rock, this spot is a must. Good food, great service, and a setting that stands out. Will definitely be back!

I love this location. Food is excellent. The views inside and out are great. I always try come here when I visit grandfather mountain. The staff is wonderful. Hard workers. Please note: inside is tiny. So recommend go early best crowds and get a booth or sit outside and enjoy the views.

Did not expect this from what I thought was a chain pizza place. Stopped in for drinks and appetizers. Lawson was our server and he was lights out. The appetizers were fresh, hot and delicious. The beer selection here is vast, and Lawson was always there when we needed him. Drink refills were always at the table within a minute of ordering them. Can't wait to come back here and eat a full meal.

Honestly, these are the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my entire life. The dough is absolutely perfect, the ingredients are incredible, and everything tastes fresh and well made. The wing sauces are amazing, and the Greek salad was delicious too. Literally everything we tried was spectacular. The theme of the place is very unique and super cool, and the service is outstanding friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I would 100% recommend this place and will definitely be coming back, thank you Austin you are AMAZING!!!!

This Mellow is the best in the company! It's not even close. I have eaten at several across the southeast, and they are good, but the one in Blowing Rock, North Carolina is the crown jewel! The staff is great, the building is awesome, and the food is out of sight. It tastes so much better there. I wonder if the altitude has anything to do with it? But its not like any of the others. It's the CROWN JEWEL!

Was going down the coast from NY with my partner when we were stopping for food in Blowing Rock. Pizza sounded good, so we chose this place. They have a HUGE variety of pizza you can choose from, including the build your own pizza (which is what we did). The sauce was pretty good, pizza overall was great We both got full for under $8 a person! Would definitely make a detour to come back next time we’re near NC!

This is the best Mellow Mushroom I've been to and I've been to quite a few of them. Literally some of the best pizza I've ever had. The great white - thin crust with pesto swirl and the holy shitaki mushroom pizza are spectacular. I'm a big pizza fan and I've been to and lot of top rated places by David Portnoy. For a specialty pizza -I don't really know if gets any better than this.
